Threat for severe weather in the local area still remains. [ 3:08 AM 1/23/2012 ]
At this time, severe threat for the local area is somewhat lower thanks to CAD Cold Air Damming [WEDGE] from the Northeast. However, we are still on the warm side of the Wedge with temps in the low 60’s and dew points also in the low 60’s. Areas to our north and east, temps and dew points are much lower.
Storms out to our west have weakened over the past couple of hours. Still .. they are producing Tornadoes indicated by Radar, and severe thunderstorms in North and Central western Alabama.
