Update 6 – Live Blogging: Southeast Severe Weather Outbreak 4/16/2001

5:35 AM 4/16/2011:

Well that was an exciting 16 hours. Severe storms and Tornadoes here in west central GA.
I have some video I will upload sometime later today if I deem any of it worthy, after some sleep.

You can read about the excitement below, and also on this post from April 15 when I began Live Blogging this event – Live Blogging: Southeast Severe Weather Outbreak 4/15/2001

I hope this final word finds all of you safe and sound. I know there were many deaths during this event that started a couple days ago. My prayers go out to those that lost loved ones, and to those that survived the horror of a tornado.

4:59 AM 4/16/2011:

This looks to be the last warning of any type for my area. Radar shows the line of storms which prompted this advisory pushing east of my area. I lost power twice, just long enough to shut everything down. I hate when that happens, especially when during times such as this, I run 6 boxes [computers to none geeks].

Have had very heavy rain and gusty winds, along with frequent lightning. Others points in my area have had worse.

2:15 AM 4/16/2011:

Line of storms east of Montgomery AL. still heading for Georgia. Looks like Muscogee and Harris Counties are not out of the woods yet.

##########

12:26 AM 4/16/2011:

From the below Radar snapshot we see the end of the storm system heading through central Alabama, heading for west Georgia. Some strong to severe storms are still apparent. There is still a risk of these storms making their way to Georgia. We still have abundant moisture working up from the Gulf of Mexico and decent dew points. However, with some cooling the threat of tornado should diminish. We can still expect possible damaging winds and large hail.
